FinerEdge Publisher's small footprint makes it ideal for embedding into applications for the production of data-driven, complex business documents. A point & click built-in database Query Facility provides a robust integrated database interface that is capable of simultaneously extracting information from multiple connections (e.g., to different databases). Additionally, the front-end form facility generates both GUI and HTML data input forms enabling you to add Application or Web-to-Print automated publishing directly into your applications, in addition to embedding the direct viewing and printing of dynamically generated documents.

Wide Variety of Application Interfaces for Java and Microsoft .NET
A number of FinerEdge Publisher application interfaces can be used to initiate dynamic document processing. Applications can choose to utilize the .NET FPWriterNET and FPFormNET Windows Form Controls, the FPWriter and FPForm ActiveX Controls, the FPJNI Java Native Interface (JNI), the FPServer Dual Interface Automation Server, or the FPEngine DLL.

The .NET FPWriterNET and FPFormNET Windows Form Controls enable applications (C#, VB.NET and others) to view FinerEdge Publisher documents from within an application in addition to generating all supported cross-media outputs.

The FPWriter and FPForm ActiveX Controls enable C++ and VB applications to view FinerEdge Publisher documents from within an application in addition to generating all supported cross-media outputs.

The FinerEdge Publisher Java Native Interface (JNI) was developed for use with Java applications and server-side Java components (e.g., Beans, Servlets, Java Server Pages (JSP), etc.). FPJNI supports all cross-media outputs.

The FPServer interface is an Automation Server that has a dual implementation, which supports the IDispatch interface (i.e., late binding) for ASP.NET and ASP using either JavaScript or VBScript. FPServer supports all cross-media outputs.

The FPEngine is a Dynamic Link Library (DLL) that implements a large part of the FinerEdge Publisher functionality including the ability to directly print documents from within applications or to generate PDF, PostScript, XPS, RTF, XHTML, XML, and Text files from FinerEdge Publisher documents.
