Web-based Report Writer
- Data source templates are created and controlled by site administrators
and authorized document authors
- External users sign-on onto their own "workspaces", which can subsequently
access the templates created by the site
- Using only standard browsers (i.e., no plug-ins needed), users
customize the templates and save their own personal copy into
their private workspaces.
- Customization of templates includes the selection of the columns
of information to be shown, the ordering of the columns, filters
that further constrain which records of information to show,
formatting themes that are applied to the individual queries of a
the saved templates, and additional customized information such as headers,
footers, etc.
- Users can then generate output documents from their saved templates
in any of the supported multi-channel output formats.
- Saved templates can be easily retrieved by users, and the output documents
again regenerated anytime the data source information changes
- Saved templates can also be further updated, copied, or deleted as
a user's needs change
